The HEASARC makes available several tool for simulating Swift data and planning observations. These can be used to estimate the measured count rates, determine the observed spectrum based on an input model source, compute expected signal-to-noise ratios, and perform other tasks to assist in preparing proposals. Proposers are encouraged to use the Swift Planning Tools and to justify their use of Swift by simulating observations of the sources that they are interested in studying.
