Orbital Information

Swift was launched on November 20, 2004 in a $584 \times 601$ km orbit with an inclination of 20.6 degrees and an orbital period of approximately 95 minutes. The spacecraft has passed its minimum scheduled life of two years, but the orbit is expected to remain stable until at least 2020. The fate of Swift's orbit will depend on the details of the 2012 Solar maximum. Detailed information about the spacecraft's attitude and orbital data will be maintained in housekeeping files at the Swift Data Center.
