NOTE: Possible detection in uu at T+90644.2 NOTE: Possible detection in wh at T+91250.4 NOTE: Possible detection in vv at T+91857.2 =========== Draft Upper Limit Circular ======== GRB 140824B: Swift/UVOT Upper Limits N. P. M. Kuin (UCL-MSSL) and C. Pagani (***BA INSTITUTION***) report on behalf of the Swift/UVOT team: The Swift/UVOT began settled observations of the field of GRB 140824B 90644 s after the GBM trigger (***Author*** et al., GCN Circ. ????). No optical afterglow consistent with the optical position *** POSITION REFERENCE is GCN_Circ-16740 *** is detected in the initial UVOT exposures. Preliminary 3-sigma upper limits using the UVOT photometric system (Breeveld et al. 2011, AIP Conf. Proc. 1358, 373) for the initial exposures are: Filter T_start(s) T_stop(s) Exp(s) Mag white 91250 103372 1782 >18.1 v 91857 98279 1284 >17.7 u 90644 102768 1794 >17.8 The magnitudes in the table are not corrected for the Galactic extinction due to the reddening of E(B-V) = 0.79 in the direction of the burst (Schlegel et al. 1998). =========== Draft Detection Circular ======== GRB 140824B: Swift/UVOT Detection N. A source consistent with the optical position *** POSITION REFERENCE is GCN_Circ-16740 *** is detected in the initial UVOT exposures. The preliminary UVOT position is: RA (J2000) = 01:11:01.14 = 17.75473 (deg.) Dec (J2000) = +60:33:38.6 = 60.56071 (deg.) with an estimated uncertainty of 0.43 arc sec. (radius, 90% confidence). Preliminary detections using the UVOT photometric system (Breeveld et al. 2011, AIP Conf. Proc. 1358, 373) for the early exposures are: Filter T_start(s) T_stop(s) Exp(s) Mag white 91250 91850 590 18.11 +/- 0.03 v 91857 92457 590 17.80 +/- 0.06 u 90644 91244 590 17.79 +/- 0.04 The magnitudes in the table are not corrected for the Galactic extinction due to the reddening of E(B-V) = 0.79 in the direction of the burst (Schlegel et al. 1998).
