report on behalf of the Swift/UVOT team:

The Swift/UVOT began settled observations of the field of GRB 240809A
98 s after the BAT trigger (Evans et al., GCN Circ. 37110).
No optical afterglow consistent with the XRT position
*** POSITION REFERENCE is GCN_Circulars-37115 ***
is detected in the initial UVOT exposures.
Preliminary 3-sigma upper limits using the UVOT photometric system
(Breeveld et al. 2011, AIP Conf. Proc. 1358, 373) for the first
finding chart (FC) exposure and subsequent exposures are:

98 s after the BAT trigger (Evans et al., GCN Circ. 37110).
A source consistent with the XRT position

is detected in the initial UVOT exposures.

The preliminary UVOT position is:
    RA  (J2000) =  15:50:10.52 = 237.54385 (deg.)
    Dec (J2000) = -02:19:03.0  =  -2.31751 (deg.)
with an estimated uncertainty of 0.42 arc sec. (radius, 90% confidence).

Preliminary detections using the UVOT photometric system
(Breeveld et al. 2011, AIP Conf. Proc. 1358, 373) for the early exposures are:
