H. Siegel (PSU) and S. J. LaPorte (PSU) report on behalf of the Swift/UVOT team: The Swift/UVOT began settled observations of the field of GRB 190114A 258 s after the BAT trigger (LaPorte et al., GCN Circ. 23677). No optical afterglow consistent with the XRT position (Evans et al. GCN Circ. 23681) is detected in the initial UVOT exposures. Preliminary 3-sigma upper limits using the UVOT photometric system (Breeveld et al. 2011, AIP Conf. Proc. 1358, 373) for the first finding chart (FC) exposure and subsequent exposures are: Filter T_start(s) T_stop(s) Exp(s) Mag white_FC 258 408 147 >20.9 white 258 6886 805 >20.2 v 563 7297 529 >19.0 b 489 6681 529 >20.2 u 464 6476 352 >20.9 w1 440 7571 415 >20.6 m2 5866 7502 393 >21.0 w2 1534 7092 413 >20.3 The magnitudes in the table are not corrected for the Galactic extinction due to the reddening of E(B-V) = 0.22 in the direction of the burst (Schlegel et al. 1998). =========== Draft Detection Circular ======== GRB 190114A: Swift/UVOT Detection M.
