R. Oates (U.Warwick) and P. A. Evans (U. Leicester) report on behalf of the Swift/UVOT team: The Swift/UVOT began settled observations of the field of GRB 200729A 145 s after the BAT trigger (Evans et al., GCN Circ. 28165). No optical afterglow consistent with the XRT position (Osborne et al. GCN Circ. 28168) is detected in the initial UVOT exposures. Preliminary 3-sigma upper limits using the UVOT photometric system (Breeveld et al. 2011, AIP Conf. Proc. 1358, 373) for the first finding chart (FC) exposure and subsequent exposures are: Filter T_start(s) T_stop(s) Exp(s) Mag white_FC 145 295 147 >19.6 u_FC 303 553 246 >19.1 white 145 1874 431 >19.8 v 633 1749 136 >18.0 b 559 1849 136 >19.2 u 303 1824 343 >19.1 w1 682 1626 78 >18.4 m2 658 1255 39 >19.0 w2 1359 1552 39 >18.0 The magnitudes in the table are not corrected for the Galactic extinction due to the reddening of E(B-V) = 0.01 in the direction of the burst (Schlegel et al. 1998). =========== Draft Detection Circular ======== GRB 200729A: Swift/UVOT Detection S.
