The Swift Science Center is located at NASA's GSFC. The SSC is responsible for providing the astrophysics community with tools and support for analyzing Swift data. The SSC is responsible for testing Swift software packages, maintaining instrument calibration data for all three telescopes, and for maintaining documentation for the data sets and analysis software. In addition the SSC manages the help center that provides the astrophysics community with advice on analyzing Swift data.
The SSC also assists with the Guest Investigator program reviews.
The SSC is based on similar efforts to support the users of ROSAT, ASCA, and RXTE.
