public class FitsImageViewer

extends JPanel

A component used for displaying an image in a FITS file. Is can only display two dimensional images. The user may adjust the gamma correction of the image for better viewing. The component can also be resized to show the image at different resolutions. Neither of these adjustments affect the underlying FITS data. This class is used by the HDUDisplay but it may also be embedded in any tool which needs to display FITS image data.

Create a new viewer which will display the given image data.

Parameters:

data - the image data to display.

allowGammaCorrection

public void allowGammaCorrection()

Adds a slider to allow adjustment of the gamma correction

showProgress

public void showProgress()

Add a progress bar to monitor the image production. This is useful for large images where the gamma correction may take a while to apply.

setImage

public void setImage(FitsImageData data)
              throws FitsException

Change the image being displayed.

Parameters:

data - The new image to display.

Throws:

FitsException

setGamma

public void setGamma(double gamma)

change the gamma correction value of the digitization.

Parameters:

gamma - the new gamma correction value.

makeColorModel

public ColorModel makeColorModel(Color from,
                                 Color to)

Create a color model intended for use with the digitizer. The model will be an index color model sweeping from one color to another, interpolating linearly in HSB color space
