systematic uncertainty). The BAT light curve showed a single rounded
peak with a duration of about 50 sec. The peak count rate
was ~800 counts/sec (15-350 keV), at ~48 sec after the trigger.

systematic uncertainty). The BAT light curve shows a weak peak with
a duration of about 10 sec. The peak count rate
was ~400 counts/sec (15-350 keV), at ~2 sec after the trigger. We note
that during the slew there is a large increase in the count rate (T+70 to
T+100 sec) which may be due to the GRB or it may be due to a source
passing through the FOV during the slew.

located GRB 060424 (trigger=206773). Swift was not able to slew to the
burst due to its proximity to the Sun. The BAT on-board calculated
location is RA,Dec 7.355, +36.820 {00h 29m 25s, +36d 49' 11"} (J2000)
with an uncertainty of 3 arcmin (radius, 90% containment, including
systematic uncertainty). The BAT light curve shows a small spike on top
of a weak peak starting about T-5 sec to about T+5 sec.
The peak count rate was ~2000 counts/sec (15-350 keV), at ~0 sec
after the trigger.

The BAT on-board calculated location is RA,Dec 343.630,+62.727

The BAT light curve shows a multi-peak structure starting at about T-5sec
and lasting to at least T+20 sec (a duration of about 25 sec).
The peak count rate was ~6000 counts/sec (15-350 keV), at ~3 sec after
the trigger.

This source is coincident with the Cepheus OB3 molecular cloud
association in our Galaxy. Therefore it is possible that this
burst (galactic long,lat = 109.99, +2.83) was from
a galactic source.

The spacecraft slewed immediately. The BAT on-board calculated location is
RA,Dec 211.795d,+27.683d {14h 07m 11s,+27d 40' 60"} (J2000), with an uncertainty
of 3 arcmin (radius, 90% containment, stat+sys). There is missing data
in the BAT TDRSS lightcurve message, so we can not say anything about the
lightcurve at this initial quicklook. However, it appears to be a long burst.
We will have to wait for the full Malindi data download.

SUBJECT: Swift-BAT trigger 180151 is unknown origin at this time
DATE: 06/02/04 00:45:13 GMT
FROM: Scott Barthelmy at NASA/GSFC

A. Retter (PSU), S. Barthelmy (GSFC), J. Cummings (GSFC/NRC),
N. Gehrels (GSFC), S. Hunsberger (PSU), J. Kennea (PSU), H. Krimm (GSFC/USRA)
on behalf of the Swift team:

At 23:55:35 UT, Swift-BAT had an 80-sec image trigger. And because of an
observing constraint, the spacecraft did not slew to the flight-derived
location; and so there are no immediate XRT or UVOT data products to analyze.
We note that the star tracker was not in lock at the time of the trigger.
Past experience shows that the gyros are able to maintain sufficient tracking
to prevent drift and therefore false triggers, but it is still possible
that this current trigger is a false positive. We will get the full data set
in about 2 hours and may be able to determine the validity of this trigger
at that time.

At 22:22:40 UT, the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) located GRB
060123. The burst did not trigger GCN notices because the source was found
in a long-term (5 minute) image, for which triggers are not currently
enabled. The BAT ground-calculated location is RA,Dec 179.750, +45.513
{11h 59m 00s, +45d 30' 47"} (J2000) with an uncertainty of 3 arcmin
(radius, 90% containment, including systematic uncertainty). The BAT light
curve showed a multi-peaked structure with a duration of about 900 +- 100
sec. The peak count rate was ~160 counts/sec (15-50 keV, note the unusual
energy interval), at ~300 sec after the trigger. We note that this is a
very long duration burst, which suggests the possibility of a high-z event.
